Rolf Menges


Rolf Menges (graduate engineer, German patent attorney) studied electrical engineering at the Technical University in Stuttgart with an emphasis in electrical machines as well as the control of electrical drive systems. After completing his studies, he worked as a research assistant to Professor Hess at the Technical University before beginning his training to become a patent attorney. He then worked as a freelance patent attorney before founding the intellectual property law firm of Ackmann Menges with his colleague Dr. Ackmann. Later, two attorneys at law also joined the firm. After over twenty years of successful practice of national and international intellectual property law, the intellectual property division of Ackmann Menges merged with the patent law firm of Schumacher & Willsau in 2012. Rolf Menges is married, has two sons and five grandchildren. He enjoys golf, swimming, and fine wines.
